Since the tracker has been up and running for more than 3 years now, I have decided to do some statistics on the recorded data.

Currently there are more than 55 million records in the tracker database whose size with all the indexes is over 8GB on disk. There are 815,000 flights recorded with 16,000 different callsigns since the beginnings in April 2006. By now, average number of flights tracked a day has reached 2,000. Average length of a flight is 11 minutes whilst the longest one is 2 days and 16 hours.

I hope FlightGear will keep it's prosperity, and more and more people will experience the fun of on-line flying.
